Monica was born and raised in London, England, received a law degree (LL.B.) from The London School of Economics and Political Science and was admitted to the English bar as a Barrister in 1982. With her sights on a legal career in the U.S. she earned a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School and became a litigation lawyer in New York City with two prestigious international law firms, eventually becoming a litigation partner in Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith and subsequently, Morgan Lewis & Bockius. In 1995, after a 14 year legal career, Monica retired from the practice of law and moved to Wilmington, NC.  She earned her NC law license in 1996 and keeps it active to provide an unparalleled combination of knowledge and expertise to achieve the real estate goals of her national and international clients.

Interests

Monica is active in the local community as a grants committee and former board member of the Women’s Impact Network of New Hanover County, a local philanthropic circle and is a former board member of The Cape Fear Literacy Council. Internationally, she and her husband have participated in mission trips to Nicaragua and El Salvador. In her spare time she enjoys boating, tennis, art shows, reading and traveling.
